Yes!

Not everyone is failing...

Obviously this is a recession but it's also an opportunity for growth in certain areas:

Little Luxuries (NPR)

Netflix, McDonalds and WalMart

Cheap food, alcohol, a movie and a rub down.

NOW you can talk about the CBO report...

...that did not technically exist until today. Here is the link to the new report which says the following:

Assuming enactment in mid-February, CBO estimates that the bill would increase outlays by $92 billion during the remaining several months of fiscal year 2009, by $225 billion in fiscal year 2010 (which begins on October 1), by $159 billion in 2011, and by a total of $604 billion over the 2009-2019 period. That spending includes outlays from discretionary appropriations in Division A of the bill and direct spending resulting from Division B.

Okay, now you can tear it apart. Of course it does seem as though things like family planning may have to sit this one out.

Politics and sports

As much as I hate when people discuss politics as if it's a sporting event I have decided that to discuss politics with those people that outside of their world views you may actually, kind of, like, it's the only way. AND if both parties can take the "this is like a sporting event" point of view you can actually just tease each other and trade insults in a loving way...like sports fans do.

At the end of the day though I still think this is a anti-thinking view to take. To me it's the easier way because if you just pick a team and stick to it (Republican, Democrat) than you don't actually have to think about or understand issues you just have to support your team's stance. How easy is that?!? Ugh.

Less than one day until the "War on intelluctualism" is OVER. Now begins the "War on the media". It's all their fault you know.

The Dish quote of the day...

Good one.

"No U.S. president can justify a policy that fails to achieve its intended results by pointing to the purity and rectitude of his intentions," - Paul Wolfowitz, "Statesmanship in the New Century," in Kagan, R. and Kristol, W, eds. Present Dangers: Crisis and Opportunity in American Foreign and Defense Policy, San Francisco, 2000, p. 335.

Sarah Palin thinks bloggers should suck it...

haha...Even bloggers that helped get her nominated for VP!? (specific part starts around 8 min)

I wonder how this poor blogger (Blogging from his parents house, probably in pajamas) and all those other "bored, pathetic, anonymous, bloggers who lie" feel or do they assume that she is only talking about the bloggers that contradict her or do not speak favorably of Ms. Governer? Of course, most of the praise about her record did turn out to be a lie (Bridge to nowhere, ebay plane, fiscal conservative, troopergate, etc.) so I see why she may be angry about that.

By the way, what is it a governer does all day anyway?
